The Australian Team Establishes a Fresh Record as Captain Alyssa Healy Faces One Final Mountain.

It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a squad that has won it all.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to deliver her most recent brilliance.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it has been a challenging time because it appeared I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive nature activate and you simply focus on the match."

"The possibility to go out there and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was removed the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing through the pain.

But while she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
